Morticia Marie Grade A depressive black metal...reminiscent of Sweden's Shining. On my darkest days I find myself wallowing in the glory of this album. "Cut out my eyes...for everything I see, I hate..." \m/ Favorite track: Melody Vitriol.

Travis Niemeyer Makes me want to go caving in the middle of the night, with a torch, a bottle of pills, and a knife...to either sacrifice some hunted victim...or maybe even myself. This is music of demise.

"Bound To The Depths is a large body of work with a loose subjective theme: where the "depths" represents something different in each piece... your inner demons, desires, convictions, and damnations. The lyrics are mainly story-like narratives, reflecting these themes through characters, and ultimately reflecting metaphorically through the listener. The album as a whole flows like a story as well, guiding the listener through the aether of darkness to events of rage, insanity, and sacrifice."

Mikolaj is a real multi-talent in bass as well as guitar as well as vocals and "Darkside" Maciej's drumming is a well-calibrated 100th-of-seconds-clockwork. Not for nothing is Mgla considered as a standard for a lot of other blacker-than-black metal bands. I hope to see this band live once..... grote_smurf

Usually, moving backwards through an artist's discography involves the danger of disappointment. Not in the case ov Gevurah though, as Hallelujah! is as ritualistic, meditative and fierce ats its successors. And while the first five tracks are a more than impressive contribution on their own, the masterful pieces Dies Irae - Lacrimosa and הַלְּלוּיָהּ are putting an unforgettable end to this debut (!) album. Best served with a dose of hallucinogen. Absolutely fantastic. David Fischer
